About the Jersey
The Boston Celtics launched a new city jersey at the start of the 2022-23 NBA Season. The jersey pays homage to Bill Russell who won 11 NBA rings with the Boston Celtics and passed away in July 2022.
The jersey has 11 gold diamonds down the side of the jersey to represent the championships won by Russell. The trim is in the style of Celtics famed parquet floor. Russell’s number 6 will feature on the shorts belt, surrounded by 11 diamonds.
The font of the city jersey reflects the script used by Slades Bar & Grill which Russell owned in the 1960s.
Manufacturer
Nike took over the manufacturing of jerseys for all NBA teams from 2017 onwards. Nike signed an 8 year deal with the NBA. Nike were unique, as they were the first manufacturing brand to have their logo on the NBA jerseys. The current Nike deal will expire in the 2025-2026 NBA season.

Washing Instructions
If you own a Nike jersey from 2017 onwards, you should wash inside out and wash with like colours. Do not use softeners and remove immediately from the washing machine once the cycle is complete. The jersey should not lay on itself when wet.
The jersey should be washed on a 40 degree wash. The jersey should not be bleached. The jersey can be tumble dried on a low heat. However, the jersey should not be ironed and should not be dry cleaned.
